The College, affiliated to HNB Garhwal Central University Srinagar (Garhwal) holds a unique place among institutions of higher education in North India on an account of its rich historic & philanthropic background. One of its unique features is that the management of the college reimburses the tution fee of all the students. The vast sprawling lush green campus is a big asset of the college.
Shri Guru Ram rai ji, after whom the college is named, was a great sage & seer endowmed with supernatural power, to which Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb with an amazed witness. Guru Ram Rai ji establisheda guruwara / tempel which is due course of time came to ne called Shri Darbar Sahib.
In 1952, S.G.R.R. Education Mission was established. The S.G.R.R. (P.G) college was established in 1960 by Brahmleen Mahant Shri Indaresh Charan Das ji (The 9th mahant in the sacred Guru Tradition of Darbar Sahib) to enable the poor, Meritorious students to realize their dreams of pursuing higher education at nominal cost. The Present Mahant Shri Devendra Das ji is devoted to further strengthening & modernizing the mammoth organization S.G.R.R. Education Mission.
